The Green Network is a 20year programme which aims to transform the environment of Glasgow and the Clyde Valley area, to improve lives and help business and communities flourish.
This video provides examples of some of the great projects already in existence across the Network and highlights the scope of opportunities available for local communities to get involved with the creation of our Green Network.
Video extracts:
‘Before hand this was a wasteland, just a walk through, people dumped rubbish in here and nobody actually used it. What we have now is clear space where tenants in the blocks of flats round about can make use of this space’ Niall Gordon, Director, Copperworks Housing Co-operative
‘The idea came from the community, they helped us get the funding . . . it’s a very important partnership and without that it just wouldn’t happen’ Charlie Cairns, Area Manager, Lower Clyde Greenspace.
‘We were asked to set up a community project to get local people involved . . . the idea is to encourage positive use of the Greenlink’ Susan Rutherford, Greenlink Project Manager, Central Scotland Forest Trust
