The Gartloch Gartcosh community growth corridor stretches from Easterhouse and Gartloch in Glasgow through to Gartcosh and Glenboig in North Lanarkshire. This area will potentially be the location for up to 4,300 new homes in the period to 2025, plus initiatives to regenerate established communities.
The Gartloch Gartcosh Green Network will provide a framework for the development of sustainable local communities throughout the growth corridor. The proposal is to utilise existing assets to create a wetland park of national significance, linked to a wider network of greenspaces, which will generate new opportunities for leisure, recreation and tourism and establish the area as an attractive place to live and do business.
