Seven Lochs Wetland Park

Wetland Park Vision

The vision for the Seven Lochs Wetland Park is a new park of national significance, sustaining and enhancing a high quality, innovative wetland environment that will:
  • Protect and enhance biodiversity
  • Promote health and well-being; and
  • Contribute to environmental, economic and social regeneration.

The Seven Lochs Wetland Park vision and masterplan has now been published. We are working in partnership with Glasgow City and North Lanarkshire councils to ensure that the Wetland Park vision and masterplan becomes a key element of future development plans for the Gartloch Gartcosh community growth area.

View the vision and masterplan under Publications.

Our award winning vision and masterplan sets out how we will deliver this vision on the ground. It makes proposals for:

  • New and improved visitor infrastructure to support the development of the park as a major new visitor attraction.
  • Integration of development into the surrounding wetland environment through the creation of new green infrastructure.
  • Enhancing and developing habitat networks to sustain and enhance the provision of important ecosystem services.
