| New Woodland planted in East Dunbartonshire |
|
Biodiversity will benefit from 6.5ha of new planting along stretches of the Luggie Water and Allander Water as part of the Riparian Planting project.
The work is supported by East Dunbartonshire’s Local Biodiversity Action Plan and the Woodland Habitat Action Plan. As well as enhancing biodiversity, Riparian planting will stabilise river banks against erosion and help mitigate against climate change. The visual appeal of the landscape will also be improved. |
“This project will not just transform the living and working environment for nearly two million people. It will make Glasgow and its surrounding areas a more attractive place for business investment, regeneration initiatives and sustainable development”John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary, Scottish Government |
