Process Projects

Examples of Process projects:

Data Management

The ability to access and share good quality data is essential to inform strategic decision making.  Currently, a range of data is held by Green Network partners in different formats and is of variable quality and currency.  Often those making decisions relating to the Green Network are unaware of relevant data or are unable to access it.

A potential project is being discussed with partners to address the issues of maintaining, accessing and sharing datasets.

Quality Standards

Recent planning advice encouraged local authorities to carry out quantitative and qualitative assessments of their greenspace resources, which will become a requirement under emerging planning policy.

It has become apparent however, that there was no common approach to undertaking these assessments. In particular there was a lack of understanding on how to carry out greenspace quality assessments.

To fill the knowledge gap a research project was commissioned by the Green Network Partnership and Greenspace Scotland to provide guidance on, and a common approach to, qualitative assessments.  The guidance will be published later this year.
