Projects Overview
The Green Network Partnership is involved in a growing number of projects aimed at delivering the Green Network. Together these projects make up the Green Network Programme.
There are three types of project:
Geographic projects
Projects that are centred around a particular location. Our geographic projects can be sub-divided into Flagship, Corridor and Neighbourhood projects which reflect the nature and scale of the projects.
- Flagship Projects
Encouraging the creation of greenspace associated with major redevelopment initiatives (such as the Clyde Waterfront regeneration project), which offer significant opportunities to create new greenspace infrastructure of exceptionally high quality, generating a range of public benefits.
- Corridor Projects
Encouraging the creation of greenspace within recognised ‘growth corridors’ that will connect communities and habitats into the wider Green Network, providing new green infrastructure for people and wildlife
- Neighbourhood projects
Encouraging the creation and improved management of greenspace linked to housing ‘neighbourhoods’, contributing to local regeneration, supporting individual and community development and promoting more active lifestyles, especially in areas of deprivation.
Thematic projects
Projects that are applicable across the Glasgow and Clyde Valley (GCV) region but focus on a particular Green Network theme. Thematic projects usually develop through one of our four Green Network Thematic Groups (click here to link to our themes).
Process projects
Projects that develop the framework of processes and practices required to ensure the delivery of a high quality, sustainable Green Network Programme.
