Integrated Green Infrastructure - New Design Studies
Two new IGI Design Studies have been commissioned by GCV Green Network Partnership as part of the series to compliment last year's four exemplary Design Studies for major regeneration sites and community growth areas. The existing Design Studies have been very well received by the Scottish Government and by our partner local authorities who plan to use them when masterplanning the developments. One of our Design Studies has led to selection of the study site for the SSCI Charrette Mainstreaming Programme. The existing Design Studies can be downloaded here.
As part of our ‘Integrating Green Infrastructure’ project we have now secured funding for two new Design Studies which build on and demonstrate the design principles adopted in the earlier Design Studies. Consultants have been appointed for these new studies which will be delivered under the direction of partners involved at each site;
The approach will be based on previous studies but with landowners and occupiers represented, an even more engaging output is anticipated. Both new sites vary from previous studies, and from each other, with local constraints offering challenges for each study. Stakeholders will have their own expectations and from these a suitable consensus can be reached that is both innovative and practicable, and which meet the principles of integrating green infrastructure.
It is expected that these fifth and sixth Design Studies will be completed as part of the series for Spring 2012.
