The Green Network Partnership has established the Integrating Green Infrastructure Project and will provide “Design Studies” for 2 sites in the GCV area; Nitshill in the South West of Glasgow and Spango Valley near Greenock.  These sites were chosen after reviewing applications from various locations.

The Design Studies will consider how each site can be developed by focussing on the 5 key components of IGI, namely;

Water Management; Access Networks; Habitat Networks; Green & Open Space; Stewardship.

Inception meetings have been held for each site and data gathering and analysis is progressing.  It is expected that each Design Study will be published in spring 2012.  The intention is produce site specific details for each location, but with principles that may be taken and applied at any other appropriate location within and beyond the GCV area accordingly.

If you are aware of a development that may benefit from this approach, get in touch with our Integrating Green Infrastructure Development Officer by e-mailing
