Seven Lochs masterplan - consultation underway

7 Lochs Wetland Park

Following publication of a draft masterplan earlier this year we have now launched a formal consultation on plans for the Seven Lochs Wetland Park. The success of the project depends upon the support of all our stakeholders, and we want to hear from community groups, NGOs and other agencies to examine how proposals for the Wetland Park can de refined and further developed.

Keep an eye on our Seven Lochs webpages for opportunities to get involved in the consultation, or contact Scott Ferguson, 07891 062 309/scott.ferguson@irri.org.uk for more.

GCV projects presented at Wetland Futures Conference

7 Lochs Wetland Park

The first UK Wetland Futures Conference took place on the 28th and 29th June. Held at Brockholes visitor centre - the UK's first fully floating conference venue - the conference looked at how new partnerships between the public, private and voluntary sectors could help take forward wetland conservation.

GCV Green Network Partnership were invited to talk about our innovative Integrating Green Infrastructure (IGI) project, and how functional wetlands can be created by incorporating SUDS into new development. We also presented the vision for the Seven Lochs Wetland Park, and how the IGI approach will be applied to the development of a new, nationally important Wetland Park in the N.E of Glasgow. The Wetland Park will bring together local government, developers and NGOs to link the conservation and expansion of existing wetland habitats to the creation of new wetland features through development.
